Anyone experienced camera stopped shooting after a few seconds because of the writing speed is too slow? The card is actually quick enough for 4K shooting, What is reason?

Panasonic FZ1000
Transcend SDXC U3 R95 W60
Shooting 4K (non-action footage)

Thanks

I think it's your card "Transcend". Always use good quality cards like Sandisk Extreme Pro or Lexar Pro, ... I've heard from fellow colleagues that Adata and Transcend cards failed on them quickly.

I heard the same recommendations for only staying with the premium card makers. Sometimes you can try out an other / cheaper / B brand, and sometime you will hit lucky and all performs fine. You also really have to read the small letters in the manual of the card: For example are the given speeds actually sustained writing speeds or only bursts of maximum throughput? Or are they perhaps even worse, the reading speeds? Sometimes some manufacturers present these numbers extremely in their favor. But then it turns out they are actually speaking about maximum burst reading speeds, and you think you bought that card with those numbers as sustained writing speeds.....

Thanks for the answers. I though about the problem of Transcend card as well.

When you look at Sandisk homepage. There you found SDXC Extreme PRO "Speed up to XXmb/s ", same as other Card producers. This is based on their internal test, and depends on which device you use.

I am still wonder why it stop filming when it is just so little data being written to the cards, scene like shooting (no action, almost no movement) moon in sky.

Sometimes it happened when I copy and past big files to another disk, some files took long long time to transfer, and eventually it transfered, or not. So is it a similar case with this kind of card when shooting?

Here is a very good article from a fellow DoP colleague about SD card flash media

Thanks so much Daniel !

Now it is clear why. It is likely recycled material caused the problem. So now I should at least try to format my card everytime I shoot new. See if it helps...

Thanks again, really good article...

I buy always only the best cards which i can get or those ones which are recommended by the camera manufactorer / tutorial.
That's the best to avoid any problems.
