Conversion EU to Dollars during sales and royalties

RekindlePhoto 25 Feb 2016 19:46
In Finances I have several sales in Feb that shows EU sales prices but royalty is $. So for example a clips sells for 60 EU but royalty is only $30. So 60 EU is really $66.20 or normally much higher. So what is happening, if sales are in EU the royalty needs to be 50% of sales amount in dollars or $33.10 and not $30. Is this a first day bug or a long term money conversion problem? Are we assuming EU and USD are equal?

Hey there! Anything regarding your payouts are a legitimate concern, so I'm happy to clear this up.

As you know, Pond5 recently began selling in multiple currencies aside from the US dollar. This is optional to buyers, and we did this to help increase sales in places where buyers were hesitant to purchase in currencies other than their own local denomination. Unfortunately we incur fees to convert these currencies back to USD to pay our artists.
Pond5 does not receive additional margin on these transactions and is recouping the fees in order to split with our artists.

Does that also mean that when a currency is less than the USD... The CAD or AUD for instance... that our products are sold at lower amounts than what we've set?

No - you will *always* get 50% of your chosen USD price, no matter what currency it's purchased in.
