over 50% clips rejected in last batch. Same for you

I am sorry Stows39, but I have to agree with Sebolla.
I never, ever shoot with anything smaller than f11 (possibly f8), with any lenses in my bag (mostly Nikkor lenses).
If I do I can see a big drop in quality, even at full size.
F22, never even dreamed of using it.
But maybe you have lenses from outer space...

Thank you very much for the input. I will apply this advice in a judicious manner.

However, please note, given the nature of the subject matter and location of the camera, a deep depth of field was required to capture the scene. Hence, f22 was used. A wider aperture was not an available option. No, I do not have a lens from outer space.

To end on a positive note, I shall remember that my humble skills are far inferior to many others. I'm well aware of my many failures and lack of competency when compared to the magnificent works I see here and elsewhere. And yet, I shall endeavor to learn every day so that I may improve by applying the wisdom of those masters eager to share their advice. After all, learning and improving is my goal.

Indebted to you and others for the free insight, I remain humbly sincere,
Stows39

Stows 39,
being able to take advice without offence is the most important step towards success.
In photography or video diffraction is something that totally destroy quality.
IMHO, I always try to stay at or above F8, I only use f11 very rarely, but only when I need loads of depth of field (although I know diffraction start to come into play, so DOF comes with a price).
Whatever DOF you may need, there is no reason to go below f11

Vittoriocaramazza,

Thank you again. I am taking advice without offense. I am working very hard to improve. And the first step to improving is admitting fault.

All the best,
Stows39

Stows39: hater???why??i was wondering how could you think that at f22 your lens performs well and gives you a sharp image...that's not the case for all the lenses i know about..don't take it personal...

My mistake. It will not happen again.

I rarely go past f/8. It seems that higher that that can lead to diffraction with lower quality lenses.

IMO Photo curator just rejected what-so-ever they feel like to reject, no matter how perfect technically or how rare the subject is, they don't care or don't know it. In no way you will find out the real reason behind rejection. No pattern to trace.. So don't be upset and hard-feeling of rejection, just upload to other site, happy if they accept it. My 2 cents

I'm having the same problem. I had 80 clips rejected because "the clip had artifact." I'm using two different 4K cameras and a Panasonic HD camera, so it's interesting to note that all the clips had artifacts. The post processing process hasn't changed, and I'm only encoding in PhotoJPEG. I was shocked.

I don't mind the rejections as long as the feedback is constructive enough to help improve my future uploads. Unfortunately, the feedback doesn't help because I'm not seeing the "artifact" in the videos.

Hey folks! Not sure if I posted in this thread yet. I can confirm that the curators are tightening their acceptance parameters as we grow and evolve. Some pieces of advice from us:

1. Look at the clips from your own batch that were accepted, and use that as a guide for what we are looking for from you.
2. If you feel clips were mistakenly or wrongly rejected, please do write in to support@pond5.com with the clip IDs and why you think there may have been a mistake. We can run them by the curators for a second look. Please be aware that sometimes the decision is final, and each time we send clips for a second review, the queue becomes longer.
3. We realise frustrating things happen when acceptance patameters change. That's why our curation leads are working on a comprehensive guide to add to our Artist Resources - this will be an anvaluable resource and something to help you consider what exactly we're looking for when we curate.

I hope this helps! Please be assured, we value you guys and we want everyone to do well, from the jack of all trades artists to the b roll folks, to the full time stock shot professionals. Building a strong, high quality marketplace with things that are likely to sell will help us all do better.
