we shot this music video a couple of weeks back in barcelona. i just got it finally editing last night..
amazing that 6 months ago we wouldn't have been able to shoot something with such a high quality image, with a setup so small...

i could probably chop up all the tonnes of footage we shot to make this into a couple of hundred very sellable stock clips....if i was only allowed :-) but made me think very much about raising the production levels of stock shoots, to get amazing end footage.....

WOW, that is an amazing video.
I'm really interested in how a music video is put together.
The syncing of his lips to the singing must be a huge task.
Is that his song?

Thanks for posting, real inspiration.

i pimped this thread a bit around some of the different stock sites, to help generate some you tube traffic.. 15000 hits so far..not too bad! so only saw the replies here just now...
i've been very lucky to start working with this record label owner last year. so this tune is by one of the artists signed to his label this is now our third music video together. i don't know how bigger productions are put together, but as a small team, i've been involved in every part of the process, from choosing the talent, cameraman, production, story, logistics ( tho don't leave me in charge of parking the hire car outside my flat, as it may get towed ading an extra 200 euros to the budget ! :-)....plus our original female lead, who was booked from france on my recomendation as a model i've worked with in the past. who never arrived, only telling us at 11pm by email that she decided not to take the plane and was not coming. so was an interesting adventure to find a new girl to start shooting the following afternoon!....
after shooting, all the post was mine, editing, cutting, so the look and feel of the video is my idea...

lip syncing with the 5d is so easy...using its basic sound recording as a guide, i could lay down the video to the final music track exactly in affter effects. the young boy in the vid is not the singer o the track, so was always just miming the track...
overall was great fun though, a good learning curve. hopefully many more videos to come.. well my next idea is a djing lobster (all stop motion with real lobsters hopefully).. he's playing on the beach, with a bunch of dancing shrimp as his audience..... :-)

congrats dubassy. shooting in barcelona can't be that bad. hope your seafood vid becomes reality - plus there's the added bonus of eating all the actors at the wrap party. :0)
