Canon 7D looking fine....

We're getting the 7D as a replacement for the Nikon gear that Delores uses now. And to have a second video camera. (other than the FX1 which doesn't see daylight anymore)
I would think the only reason to pick the 7D over the 5D is if you want to save $1000.
The 5D is still the only full frame camera out there that does video. Can't get that and everything that goes with it with the 7D.

I am trying to hold off until Canon or another manufacturer releases the new round of VIDEO cameras. Hopefully they will throw a 5D into an xh-a1 body :-)

Doubt that. That would kill any sales for the rest of their video camera line.
But if you want it now, this guy created a hybrid camera out of the 5d and sony Betacam body.

for Low Light 5D MKII is better than 7D, I think with a bit of PP you can Record Up to ISO 1200 with the 5D I wouldn't go over ISO 800 with the 7D at leas you downside your videos. I think the GH1 is good only problem is the video compression in camera is really bad hopefully Panasonic resolve this issue.

The main reason to get a 7D is 60 fps then render as 30 fps, so you get in camera slow motion and also the price.

Also in reality, who is going to use high iso for stock footage and get it universally accepted at the different stock sites?

7D is good enough its dynamically like 16mm film camera. You could put it up on the big screen too. (supposely) However the 5D sensor size still picks up more light, (because it is bigger) so the 5d will still work better and with a lower iso anyway. Especially with a 1.4 lense. The full frame sensor of the 5d also causes a greater Circle of Confusion (COF) effect for better DOF.

Sooooo. The 7d is more user friendly... but Im in no hurry to sell my 5D.
