views and sales

Views are only updated in groups of either 3 or 5 ... P5 could tells us for sure. I agree, when a sale is made the actual views should be updated for us at the same time. Since it sold the views should be updated and not lag like non-selling products.

The limited data available is a real problem that effects production. Information about clips that are being viewed helps by suggesting that the clip has an interest to customers at least. This will help with decisions on the production of new clips. I would go further and like to see word searches that customers have made to arrive at a clip as this would help in marketing/tagging more accurately.

When I was at NAB I spoke to someone about this and they said that the view data is not working properly at the moment. I expressed how important it was for people (especially to those of use who are new here) to know what people were interested in. I was assured that a fix would be coming "soon".

Best thing to do is just click on "sales data" and look at "cart adds". That is really all you need to be concerned about. Usually, but not always, when you see a clip added to a cart, a few days later you will have a sale. Forget about all the views and all that, it has no bearing on sales anyway. I check my "cart adds" daily just to see if there are any figures in there and it is a pretty accurate determination of a sale.
