lines appearing on logo - Clean Fragment Logo opener

Hello,
First off let me admit that I am a brand-new Adobe Effects user. I purchased this program literally only to get my logo intro done.

I'm sure I'm not the only one to have done this and had some beginner troubles.

My issue:
After inserting a logo as per directions, there are unacceptable vertical lines through the logo. Examining the layers I see the one that has similar graphics to what I'm seeing. Trouble is I have no idea how to fix this.

Very vague question I know, should this be covered by the developer as all I did was insert my logo.
