Vitebsk Zoological Park was founded on March 30, 1992 on the basis of the theater of animals. Initially, the animals were located in the backyard of the building on Komissar Krylov Street, 7. At the moment, the zoo is located on Y. Kupala Street, 17. Some of the animals (mostly heat-loving), as well as reptiles are in the building itself. The rest are in special pavilions and in open enclosures.
