1080 60p vs 1080 30p

More cameras are offering 1080-60p. Would 1080-60p clips have more sales potential than 1080-30p clips or is 30p still the king in stock video?

If you shoot in 1080-60p don't you have the option to down convert? Or would that affect the character of the image. Progressive gives me a headache.

Yes, I am shooting scenes with action at 1080/60p, then I am down converting to 1080/30p. 60p gives the option to the buyer to put the clip in slow-mo at 30p with minimum loss. P5 uploading instructions states that files should be 29.97 fps. I was just wondering if 60p files would be attractive to buyers although they take a lot of more storage space.

I've been uploading 60p footage since it gives the buyer more options (slow it down or render at 30p), so I'd suggest you upload it at 60p.

Has anyone ever thought of shooting their footage at a higher shutter speed than 1/60 for slow motion then reducing that footage by say 50%. Or even shooting at a lower shutter speed say 1/4 for fast motion? I don't think reducing 60p to 30p then reducing by 50% is a solution.

I've video taped bubble bees flying out their nest at 1/10000 and when played back looks really cool.

Do you think Norm (normstock) shot this clip at 1/60 and than time lapsed it?

Not all agencies take 60fps footage.

If it doesn't have sound I would submit half speed at 30fps.
