I am wondering how does it work. I have seen a couple of clips which are uploaded as MPEG2, I just tried it as well and the clip never appears. Can somebody tell me how this trick work?
Thanks

I thought they accepted either .mpeg or .m2t files , and they would work just like .mov when uploaded?
Marcus, any input?

Where have you seen MPEG2 files? As far as I know you can only upload mov's -

Somewhere I had read that they accept the native camera formats... maybe I am nuts!

Ok, without saying any names:
F.e. the camera is a Sony Z1 and the codec in the Clip description =
Video Codec: mpeg2
Maybe I am wrong or maybe it is a bug I have no idea. I just thought how fast would it be to upload mpeg2 files with f.e. 50 MB instead of a .mov file with f.e. 400MB

Keep in mind that the codec can still be wrapped by quicktime. The codec is merely the rendering that is wrapped by the quicktime wrapper. Hence, you could have mjpeg, png and on and on.. Although I have not seen that codec under the Quicktime wrapper, but could be wrong. It would be awsome if we could directly upload mpeg2, m2t and so on... but from what I have read, particularly about the m2t is that not all NLE's or platforms support it yet. I would guess this is once again some type of standards war.

Hey guys --
We do accept HDV clips in .mov container format at the moment, but not .m2t or .mpeg -- we're looking at beginning to accept those in the future.
For now, we manually convert HDV clips for buyers whose editing setups don't support it, which is why we haven't made a big announcement about accepting HDV. Once we've automated this process, we'll be able to handle HDV -- along with DVCPRO HD, XDCAM, etc -- much more easily, and we'll be encouraging you all to upload in camera native format.

Any idea of how long until you are able to automate the upload of HDV files
as I think it has been talked about for quite a while now?

I have been waiting on this since first told it will be "coming very soon" back in June 2008. Any estimate would be much appreciated.
