Just announced and so far looks real good. Lower prices than the competitors and what GoPro has done on any other cameras so far. Camera price is down and Karma is real low priced. Now to see if the year delay was worth the wait.

$1099 include GoPro 5 Black camera, Karma Quad, stabilized drip and case. Can't beat the price.

My first response was that they did real well design wise. Impressive. Portability factor is huge.
Disappointed about the fisheye. This makes anything like a dynamic tilt ugly (you can see it about 3/4 of teh way through the main promo) Typical reason for me to hate aerial GoPro look.
Unknown if exposure can be controlled from ground using Karma.
Yeah, great price ... excellent, really.
I dunno about the stabilized drip though, Don ...

Oh, and we are still stuck at 30P for 4K.
Come on technology ... jeez!

Seems like they didn't improve the video quality at all. It was only the form factor. Making it waterproof and have a screen. I can't see any reason to upgrade from my current gopro. Am I missing something? As far as the drone, it looks interesting but I will stick with the phantom 4. Such a reliable easy drone and I would take the footage from it any day over the gopro.

I don't disagree. However, this gizmo is more portable than the P4, or the Tyhoon H, or anything that has any usefuleness. Man , the Inspire 1 was a dog to haul up a trail, deployed, or in its case - not even considering the TurboAce Matrix unless it's a shoot nearby ... I can't wait for something that is truly portable, not too unlike this Karma gizmo, but has useful "non GoPro" look ... and hoping for the low bitrate crap codec to go away too ... (it's not just bitrate, it's codec ... my X70 shooting 60mb/s 4K looks much better than 60mb/s drone footage) but of course that requires processing, and processing still requires a processor, and these teeny cams are doing pretty good considering ...
The CEO clearly said their product is for the selfie crowd ... apparently they are cool with warped image ... it's just too bad they didn't create a product line more tailored for the filmmaker types (at least those "filmmakers" that prefer control and horizons that don't look like beach balls)
Not saying it (GoPro) doesn't have its place, but I'll wait for the next portable option. That said, I'll be hauling Typhoon up a mountain this week ...

I really like the small form factor of the Phantom 4 but they missed to upgrade that shitty camera. The image falls appart too quickly if there are fine details - creating ugly artifacts. The X5R on the Inspire would be perfect but a lil too big for hiking. Hope they silently upped the Protune codec in the GoPro5 makin it a reasonable compromise.

Agree having to use only wide angle in 4K hurts. HD has several views, wide, medium and narrow. Wide is just too wide. No real specs given on the camera yet. It looks like a release statement to get people excited with not a lot of hard data.

There is no fisheye on the Hero 5. There was a new firmware update for the Hero 4 black's Protune that included IOS settings and for the first time shutter speeds. No doubt it's also included in the Hero 5's as well.
I upgraded my Hero 4 black and flight tested the changes to Protunes. At 1080@60fps at either f 1/120 or 1/240 the video is good but could use an ND filter for finer detail. Camera is modified with a 3.97mm f2.8 82° lens also have a 5.4mm f2.5 60° lens which I can switch to if necessary.

Really? I think it's not true Jason ... watch the promo again ... if that ain't fisheye, I'll eat raw fishheads.
