Other than the 5D (and now 7D), is anyone using any other DSLR's for stock? D5000, GH-1, GF-1, Ti1?

I have and used (and submitted clips from) my D90 successfully. It's a bit limited, but if you know how to use it and work around it's limitations, you can get good results.

Here are some of my D90 clips:

I did a search on fps:24 and found quite a few clips that have sold, which is encouraging. I'm trying to squeeze out enough money for a 7D, but if I fall short I'm thinking about the D5000 or K-x.

Dave, I don't know if you follow Phillip Bloom on Twitter but he uses the GH-1 in his work along with the 5d and 7D.
Pretty good write up on the camera with some video.

And another video from him using the GH-1 and glidetrack

I have the glidetrack. Great little piece of gear if you want some dolly movement but can't carry a larger dolly with you.

Well actually, I just realized the GH-1 is only $100 less than the 7D but the GH-1 comes with a lens.
For some reason I thought the GH-1 was less than $1000
Oh well.......

The GF1 is less than $1000. And if I'm gonna spend that much, I might was well spend a few hundred dollars more and get the 7D. Panasonic needs to drop the price of the GH1 to $1200 or less if they want to keep selling it now that the 7D is out.

I wanted something with at least 30p at 1280x720 resolution, but pickings are slim. Only the T1i and GF1 support 30p. And the T1i has no manual settings control for video, it's all auto. The GF1 looks promising, but no Canon or Nikon lens support without an expensive adapter.

As of now any DSLR is going to be better than any video camera. In terms of performance (NOT necessarily user friendlyness) ... I would not get the GH because of the weird lense type and the 24p thing. Although the GF1 looks good. I think if you're on a budget the 7d is probably the best camera.

Im probably not going back to normal video cameras, DSLR is better. Although as I mentioned before I would consider getting a cheap 35mm film camera just for slow motion stuff.

The 7D is outside my budget at the moment, saving up $1800 is difficult right now. But minus and organ or two and maybe one of the neighborhood kids I could probably swing $1000. I know for a many people, $800 doesn't sound like much but for me it is right now.
