Pilotfly H1 if anyone is intersted

I received the Beholder yesterday. It took maybe a total of 3 minutes to get it setup and start shooting.
Most of that time was figuring out how to get the camera mounted in the quick release. Only because I didn't read the instructions.

It's really steady with my GH4 and 19mm prime lens.
I don't know if the H1 or the other makes have an inverted mode but this does go inverted. It was pretty cool to shoot stable video 2 inches off the floor.
I'm still doing some renovations in my house but I'll shoot something usable and upload it this weekend.

So off hand, the Beholder seems to be the easiest to get out of the box stable shooting within minutes of all the others on sale now.
Inverted mode is great.
Love that the batteries are replaceable.

There is a little joystick on the handle that you can move the camera side to side or up and down.
I can see that being pretty cool to mount this on my jib and point the camera in different angles that I wouldn't otherwise been able to get.
If it had a remote for the joystick that would be even better.

But if you want to shoot with a larger camera then the GH4 I would wait for the release of the larger model.
I don't shoot with any other DSLR than the GH4 so this works great for me.
If I wanted to shoot with something larger it would have to hold my C300 and those are more then I want to spend on a stabilizer.

Man/Woman renovating/painting house should be a good subject to shoot too. ;)
JHDT_Productions 6 Jun 2015 19:39
Patuwe97, I'm doing that as well. One of the reasons the renovation is taking so long :)

Jake,

Real people doing real things. No one can compete with you, you both are good-looking model. ;)
May be buyer don't buy your renovating clips, cause you just looks too good to be a worker. ;)
We still have a hope to compete with you.

BTW Can you use this Beholder as steady cam ?
JHDT_Productions 6 Jun 2015 20:40
Yes, it is a great substitute as a steadicam.
The only thing with these stabilizers is the arm is in front of the lcd monitor. But you can see enough of it to get the shot.
Or in the case of the GH4 I can view the video on my Iphone or tablet while shooting. I'll have to rig something to the tripod mount at the bottom of the handle to hold the Iphone as a substitute monitor.

And thanks for the compliment, as we get older we'll just shoot more elderly concepts :)

I have not figured out the inverted thing on the H1 I'm starting to think it does not have the ability. Also the h1 only has up and down toggle.

So far the Beholder sounds way better than the H1.

I always jump too soon.

I'm just getting to edit some footage and on my large monitor I can see a slight jiggle or whatever you want to call it. I guess from the motors. Didn't see that on the cameras LCD
Its still really steady. Much more steady than I could ever get with my steadicam. And the jiggle can be taken out with a slight amount of stabilization in After Effects or Premiere.

Jake,

It is a very promising Beholder, light, flexible. Does it fit to other camera ? US$500-?
JHDT_Productions 7 Jun 2015 14:16
Yes, it was $499USD

Jitter was the word I was looking for. But I think it has something to do with me not balancing the camera fully before turning it on.
Not sure. But I'm really excited about using it.

This is the listed cameras in their manual:
Supported Camera Models: Sony A7S, NEX
series, Panasonic DMC-GH4 small lens,
BMPCC, Etc.

This model will support up to 850 grams so whatever camera you have that fits that weight I'm sure will work. But if you have a larger camera I would wait for the larger model to come out as was mentioned by others.

I'm editing some test footage I shot yesterday, once its complete I'll upload to Youtube and post here.

My Pany FZ1000 weighted 800gm. Together with this Beholder is less than 2kg. Well, not really for holding it for a long time. ;)
If they design the gimbal on the right hand side will be perfect, so I can pull out my camera monitor.

I read the comment on youtube, they "may" have a newer model so HDMI can be plug in. It is made in China and you can get it in TaoBao for Y 4,000- (higher than US dollar price, Yuen is higher now). You can only direct buy from this CNCheli....

Looking forward to see your test movie in Youtube.

#### About "jiggle"

That happened to my Panasonic FZ1000 with stabilizer on. I realized the camera lense moved internally to compensate my handheld. Infact I am holding it very stable. Don't know why is so. But my Panasonic LX100 is OK, no such problem.
