and does anyone care if it is 29.97 or 30fps? Most my stuff is 29.97 and it shows as 30.

Not having Location and camera info ESPECIALLY in editorial footage is a major fail for any professional agency.
MidWestStockFootage 2 Sep 2015 16:55
Why? I have never cared what footage was shot with if it will enhance my story in News. And I've worked with people from ESPN and other big networks who literally don't care. They look at the footage itself to determine if it will work for their project.

Shutterstock outsells Pond5 (at least for me) and they don't have camera info, location, frame rate, etc... They have an EXTREMELY simple submit form with minimum item requirements. I say drop all that stuff and remove it from the submission form. Let's make submitting easier and faster, not more complex.

You may be right and i propably overreacted, but on the other hand there is no harm in them being there is it?
Location is visible even before description and there are shots who depend on location like monuments buildings etc.

Plus, from my point of view, there are always those technically astute people who need the camera information as a means to help them evaluate what they are seeing.
As a further proof of quality.
And cameras are becoming more complicated and they offer different images.Film stock used to matter (as it still does) and sensors and gammas are the new film stocks.

I do think location is needed for editorial.

SS requires location identifiers in their editorial descriptions, a trait I've brought over to my P5 editorial clips.
MidWestStockFootage 2 Sep 2015 18:15
Yeah, but it can be added to the description (as it is with SS). It doesn't need to have a separate field.

Fortunately, P5 doesn't require the camera field. So leaving it there doesn't harm anything, other than adding an extra keystroke to "tab over".

Hello gentlemen,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the awesome conversation and feedback in this thread. What you are providing here is invaluable to us, and very helpful, so thank you! We'll keep you posted on further developments.

Comparing to ss is not very relevant though because ss treats video almost as if its a still photo.
I like having a page where you see some of the most basic info af a clip.Description and keywords at p5 come in many forms, but the bare nesessities of a digital video should include the means that it was shot with and basic location info and im astonished that a lot of agencies dont do this.

SS on editorial require a news byline that includes location and date. I see it's importance but it's also a pain in the butt. This makes using a "batch tag video" impossible. For that reason alone is why P5 has several thousand more of my clips than SS has. KISS with minimal change is what is needed. Changes should speed things up and should always be directed to increase sales. Taking away Batch Tag Video did not speed things up ... it slowed things down. If sales do not go up then why change a simple system?

Just saw the new layout. From what i can see the "More Videos From Artist" is a total mess most of the times, with "Other Similar Footage" being more accurate but sometimes completely off.Is the latter using an image detection algorithm?

This is even worse in commercial footage with model release. The other clips displayed from the same artist are completely irrelevant to the main clip, its not that hard to display clips with the same model release,ss does it for example.

What bugs me the most is the fact that this is becoming a very closed platform where the system decides what to display.
At least make it work correctly.
