Now now, be fair. There are many situations Warp Stabilizer is needed. Try using a tripod on a boat. What about that timelapse plagued by wind? How about a handheld shot of a bald eagle close up? (and more) If it weren't for Warp Stabilizer, I would not - oops,. I take it back, I also need frame by frame Clone Stamp.....After Effects is a very useful tool. Marbury, go with Magix for now, save the shots needing stabilization for later (or get someone to do it for you) and grow into the next program as you see fit when you need it. By then you will have a better handle on how you like to work and what features/functionality you need.

Hi Mizamook,
Fair enough - but I wasn't knocking the warp stabilizer per se, I use it all the time ;-) - it's a fantastic get-out-of-jail tool. I have just done some hand held stuff from the top of a bus - as it was going over speed bumps, so I'm going to be needing it big-time.

I was just having a little fun as Marbury is hand holding clips which really, really, really should simply be on a tripod.

Oh - he has no tripod? Well in that case, he's gonna need a tripod, plus a slider, a mini tripod, a beanbag, a Steadicam, a mini-jib, a shoulder rig, and who knows what else!?

Ian? I hope you are having fun....

Speed bumps indeed....

Oh, and another reason? Some idiot bumps his tripod handle during the important bits. Yep, I'm talking about this idiot...whoops.

Don't tell me you do it as well! Have you noticed what it does to AX100 footage? Talk about wobbly bits!

Well as you all seem so sure I have no tripod I was getting worried myself, so I had a look downstairs and phew, my sturdy tripod is still there ;-) I have been using it a lot of late. Sometimes handheld is the only choice in some situations (ie when in a crowd at an event that you have to hold your camera in the air to get the shot-but I had steady shot switched on which smooths the edges)

Try WD40 on the rusty areas and canned air to clear the cobwebs. ;-)

Good to hear you're using it - it is worth lugging it around where possible.

And it's weight bearing exercise which helps my cholesterol :-)

Marbury, good to hear your tripod hasn't been nicked!

Videostock50, well, yes, I was trying to think of how to use that wobbly stuff - perhaps transition into dream sequence? Opium overdose POV?

dreamy sequence just about sums it up. Maybe the warp stabilizer in CS35 will sort it out.
