My P4 obstacle avoidance saved me big time once when it lost connection and was in RTH mode. There was a large desert butte between us and you can see in the footage where it just about slams into the cliff face but stops at the last minute and travels up and over before returning home. Only time I know of that it has saved me. It was a good learning experience and now I am much more careful about all the settings like RTH altitude and others. Big fan of my P4. Interested to see what happens with the Mavic.

Great story!
Just got back yesterday with some driving POV footage from the DJI Z3 camera, controlled via the A3 flight controller and Lightbridge 2 transmission/control technology, and DJI Go App (which I tend to think of as "Go to hell", but I digress)
A week and a half prior, I basically stapled my Typhoon H to the top of my Westfalia camper, and drove up the same road.
You know, being that the Yuneec is so much cheaper, both in feel and in price, I gotta say I really like the footage from that better. It just looks more ... real.
So yeah, no DJI fanboy I.
And I suspect the Mavic footage "crawls" just like the X3 and Z3 footage does. It's like having ants in your pants, but worse .. it's in your footage. A nasty sort of noise.
But still usable, with certain shots ... definitely gotta turn the sharpening DOWN before recording. With the Typhoon you have fewer choices, but then, you don't need them as much.

Well both GoPro and DJI lied about shipping date. Neither one was ready. No excuse from GoPro that announced over a year ago and still couldn't deliver.

I don't think anyone has gotten one yet... I think it's end of this month they ship.

Most dealers are saying middle to end of November now. They rushed it too quick trying to hurt GoPro sales.

A couple of friends in Kansas City got theirs this past week. And in the DJI Mavic Pro group on Facebook there have been several dozen people reporting they got theirs and posting footage.
DJI played down the shipping delays on purpose to get people to order the Mavic instead of the GoPro drone. It worked.
And from everything I've watched, the Mavic is a superior drone.
I'm happy with my Phantom 3 Advanced for now, but I'll be selling it and getting the Mavic in December or January.
