I'd say it's a shoe-in obvious hands-down choice between the two. Without having studied it too much or seen results (and surely there will be a whole bunch of comparison vids to come) I'm speaking, of course.

Interesting specs on the Mavic - 4+ miles range.

Needs its own thread

I may be in love

We'll see how it really turns out though , but dang, it looks GOOD

They both look promising. I do like the detachable hand held gimbal of Karma. I really don't like the track record of customer service with DJI, they really don't care once you buy their product.

Still no real specs on the DJI camera other than 4K at 30fps. For 99.99% of people they don't understand what makes a camera quality electronically. 4K really only beans the pixel ration and nothing more with specs on bith eh DJI and GoPro ... both are being secretive. I'll still get a couple GoPro 5's for a disposable camera to use when a good camera will get damaged.

2 or 3 axis gimbal. It will be interesting to see how they really stabilize.

Too small and light weight may be unstable in mild wind conditions making the gimbal work harder.

Not really ... wingspan (leverage) and power, plus prop efficiency. Weight has little bearing (some, but less than you think) if the motors are powerful enough. The other factor is how the craft is tuned. 3 axis gimbal is really nice on a quad, as it evens out the necessary twitches in yaw.

First comparison between the MAVIC and the P4. At the end video is compared.

Looks very familiar compression, but I'm not surprised, nor disappointed. "4K" in this size really means "Somewhat decent HD" but that's OK. Can't have it all (yet)

Glad those guys have sense of humor. It was funny.

Noticed something the other day looking at Inspire 1 footage, Typhoon H footage, and comparing to older 60mb/s X70 footage .... when zooming in to higher mags, like 200x and 400x, the X70 footage still looks like what it is (a rock, a brick, a bird) but the super compressed tiny sensor drone footage always shows crap artifacts at even 100%, indistinguishable from mush at 200% ....

It is NOT bitrate. It is the codec AND bitrate.

But having something like Mavic would be super awesome. Just don't fly like an asshole. (speed is most valuable when you want the thing to come back to you NOW because the battery is gasping ....
