It all sounds great, really, im not disputing that.
But at 24fps I'm not interested. I'm sure they will get it to 29.97 at some point. Those guys seem to be geniuses.
Also I don't have a 5dmkiii, if I were going to buy one to do this I would put another $500 and get breathtaking 4k footage from the BMC that has a built in SSD recorder.
For you guys that have a MKIII I can't wait to see some footage.

To be fair we haven't seen any 4K footage from the BM camera yet.

btw, how large will be the internal SSD recorder of BMC 4k?

It doesn't have a "built in" recorder, just a slot to put in an SSD of your choice (as long as it can handle the data rate)

Sorry, I used the wrong term. Like the Engineer said it's an SSD slot you put the size SSD you bought. I have some 240 GIG I bought when I was going to get the 2.5K BMC, I'm waiting to see what the specs are for the 4K to see if they will work on that as well. May not.
No we haven't seen footage from the 4K camera but I'm sure it looks as good as the 2.5k footage.

Hope it looks at least as good at 2.5k ;)

From ML Team:
There has been a lot of progress over the past few days - the devs are working hard to refine things to be more user friendly. Here's a list of new developments from the past couple days:
- All tearing / stuttering issues have been resolved, video is smooth now.
- Raw burst looks possible for 500d and 550d.
- Raw playback in camera is working (will play back at normal speed eventually)
- Audio recording to separate .WAV file works while recording raw video.
- Updated list of cameras supporting RAW video now: 5D2, 5D3, 6D, 600D, 650D (brand new)
We believe raw video will be possible on all cameras, but it is still very early in development. Cameras with CF cards work best - SD cards will only work at lower resolutions. Older DIGIC 4 cameras will work at very low resolution.

Very funny, Normstock....I was thinking similar thoughts. I really did laugh.
Until I found myself facing an upcoming short trip with only one camera, and dug Wifey's T2i out of the junk basket.
Did a double-take and thought I'd recheck Magic Lantern. Yes, I learned something. The T2i is a 550d, on which ML works.
So it's sitting here, functional, and lots of fun to play with. But will it work? So far, yes. Real world tests will be reported on at the end of this week.
The question: How much footage will I ruin by not being familiar?
This Magic Lantern is REALLY COOL! Very fun indeed. Motion trigger and HDR video and focus peaking oh my!
