Phantom 4 pro: has anyone tried it?

Did some dusk/night shots and the difference with the Phantom 4 is... well, day and night, forgive the pun... Very clean looking at 800 ISO.

I am seriously thinking to upgrade to a P4 Pro in a couple of weeks.
In the last month I have started to upload some still image to stock agencies, never done that before.
So I have been trying to extract JPEgs both from footage made with my GH4 and P4.
No problems with the GH4 footage, although there is a decent amount of noise that can be taken care of in Lightroom. I only shoot at ISO 200 with the GH4.
The footage from the Phantom 4 is so bad that it is painful to analyse the extracted JPEGS, worse than snaps taken with a smartphone. I don't think I would even bother submitting them to agencies

If it is reinforcement of that decision you are after, DO IT. (yeah, I sound like a DJI shill) I heartily recommend the P4P ... these images are so far "knock your socks off" better than any of that super small sensor super compressed nasty garbage from the other birds. Just be aware of the potential problems and be ready to look for them and send it back for warranty repair if they show up in yours.

It is, finally, a "real" camera. Too bad no zoom ... 3x would have been great. (and started a tad wider)

Yes, sure. Zoom or interchangeable lens would a dream, but still long way to go for that, at least in a small bird

Had the zoom in the Z3 cam, (but no Inspire to fly it on) but even with zoom that camera is so bad. Having had RX100m2,3,4, I can say that limited as it is the 3x zoom is worthy to have ... I'll bet a body part that they get it in next iteration.

Watched a humpback and porpoise pod today from a cliff, well within range, but the P4P stayed in the pack on my back. Situation wasn't quite right. Which reminds me .. better order that polarizer.

Flying an Inspire 1 with X5R would be nice, but the flight time is pretty short compared to P4P, and the new Inspires would be nice .. but so big, so expensive ... I'll bet that X4S on Inspire 2 would be just like P4P cam, but again ... man .. don't screw up.

I have all my footge in 4k from dji phantom 4 pro plus... see it for yourself ..oh and yes its unedited and in Prores format

Can't see any of your clips, shows "0". It has to be edited to a certain amount since DJI doesn't save in ProRes. SInce you have to -resave or render into ProRes why not crop and make some minor adjustments as needed before saving?

@marianko
Many thanks for posting those clips, extremely helpful.
May I ask what settings are you using?

Well here it is ... still no P5 but a new version of the P5 ... Advanced and a little cheaper but same camera. Looks promising.
