Thanks, apparently the card was damaged beyond recovery. Sandisk replaced the card for free, GoPro replaced the camera for 40% discount, the insuranse paid the rest for both cameras and rig.The data was lost. Conclusions: backup my data every day,

Format before recovery? Does not make sense.
Anyway the card was fractured and would not undergo formatting.
