Hey everybody, I made a custom video for someones indie movie.

He wants the exclusive rights to it. Just wondering, how much would you all charge for it? It took about 4 days (with a lot of breaks) to make it.

$1000

Is that the whole thing? 11 seconds? That is very good work you are doing!!!! Well worth $1k to someone who wants quality.

1000$ for four days of work? In my opinion even if you are not a pro (yet) you should charge prices that could sustain a business and don't undercut the market.

Considering the usual costs of doing business (equipment costs, health care, retirement plan, taxes...) a day rate of 250$ would give you a hourly rate below a job at McDonalds.

My recommendation: Ask for 1,500$ for nonexclusive rights. If the client really needs exclusivity (complete buyout) don't go below 6,000$.

oops, it looks like my reply is a little late.

This clip looks realy great. Is there workshop or a website where I can find out how to do such things. Which program can do such animations?

Thanks

Hey, really liked the video you posted. Off the subject, you might want to be careful posting to Myspace TV. I have found some of my clips from youtube all over the place and I think Myspace has the same policy which is, uploading to these sites allows anyone to "share" them. So, someone might be using your videos for free because it is uploaded with Myspace. Just a heads up, that's all.
