Vertical Format thumb selection

It doesn't sound like the system should be rotating anything, but I still haven't seen any examples of an on-line clip for a vertical video that displays vertically. I don't think we support that yet. But I like everyone's ideas here with regard to them.

We do accept vertical videos, though not all the time. Vertical videos with cutout/chomakey content are the most likely to be accepted, but for the most part don’t be surprised if they are rejected. Making sure they are submitted in the way dapoopta described, laying on their side, is also helpful in getting them accepted.

I suspect there's going to be work on vertical videos, both in terms of how our system handles them and what we accept, as they do sell here at Pond5. But for now this is the guideline.

Thanks Jonathan for the info. I have a number of vertical clips here already and have submitted them for years. All of them were submitted standing up. Somewhere in the P5 process, after data input and submission they are laid down. I have made sales on verticals, can't see the sales anymore with the new system. So I believe there is a market that very well may grow. A "lazy" or laid down vertical might sell a "proud" or standing vertical will sell very much better.

With smart phones and tablets vertical is the norm now. Even one of my dual monitors is in vertical position. We would hope that until a fix is found acceptance of verticals will continue and someday they will be made proud and stood up.

Yar, I can definitely confirm that Pond5 also sees value and potential in vertical videos. I just don't have any details on the plans, and it's probably going to be a while. But I feel totally confident that we'll see movement there.
