What`s "popular" as a search term

Just out of curiosity, how are clips sorted when I click "popular" when looking through my own portfolio.
I know the highest grossing would be first.
Then I `d presume it would be most viewed, but I`m sure looking through the order of most popular doesn`t correspond with the clips views when I look in "my Uploads - Sales data;"
It seems to change daily, always interesting to see.
How often are the views per clip updated?
If I was to view one of my own clips, or my page, would this be included?
I hope not, I can`t tell if it does or not, but I like to see my clips once they have gone live, but I`d hate it if all the views per clips were all my own!
