Red Scarlet just got scooped

I got a server motherboard last year that supports dual Athlons. It doesn't seem to be on the NewEgg site any more, just the more expensive Opteron boards.

A friend of mine bought several computers and set up a small renderfarm at home, so I took my queue from him and use the wife's old computer for rendering (now that she has a laptop). It takes about 200% longer to render on her machine than mine, but it's one of those "set it and forget it" kind of things so that I can use my system to edit clips and create new animations. When I am not using my system, I'll turn on the render engine to speed up network renders.

Maybe I'll just get a clone of my AMD quad core 940 system and do a network render. Should only be around $500.

But... there's that new HP quad core Laptop for $1200....

Never mind, need to save up for the GH2.

Hehe

Hopefully it will have more manual control than the GH1.

I was going to buy the Scarlet 3 million years ago, when they were going to "come out with it," I mean I wouldnt hold your breath.

I know what the C-mount is, its the cine mount, I have a c-mount lense.

Its made for 16mm film cameras and CCTV, it doesnt work on the 5d because the sensor is too big. What happens is the image is projected at a small size so there is a large black area on the video.

I found a way to get c-mount lenses to work on the 5d, it requires 2X magnification optics. Im working on that currently actually.
