I understand that Pond5 will take native capture of HDV footage as long as it is in the .mov container.
Do I have it right that this can only be done using a Mac? If I buy a mac laptop, will I also need FCP or is this something I can do with just Imovie?

Frank,
I think you would need Quicktime Pro at the very least.

I tried sending in a couple of m2t / m2v files a couple weeks ago. I don't think they're ready for them yet. I was asked to stick to Motion for interlaced and Photo for Progressive. I used Premier Pro CS3 and I think I did it correctly. So for now doesn't look like native m2t is ready yet.
..... is that correct P5 Team?

Yes, correct -- please stick with MotionJPEG B (interlaced) and PhotoJPEG (progressive) for the moment.
We're hoping to be able to accept native HDV in as MOV, AVI and M2T in the near future, but it's not ready yet.
