Shoot in Log?

Greetings folks, I'm new here and also new to shooting video although I've been a still photographer for a long time.
For video, I'm shooting with a Fujifilm X-T2 which gives the option of shooting in HD, 4K or 4K F-Log. It can shoot both at once with an external recorder, but then the Log is combined with HD, not 4K.
For stills, I always shoot raw files and process in a variety of software afterward (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.).
So I bought DaVinci Resolve Studio 14 and am now trying to learn it. Frustrating.
My question is: How important is it to shoot in Log so as to give the customer the option of color grading it? Obviously, just shooting 4K and uploading out-of-camera files would be a lot less bother.

Welcome to the frustrating world of these choices. I'll put in my tiny thoughts, based only on my experience.
You should be on Resolve 15 not 14 ... (the latest/greatest, but still goofy stupid frustrating ... definitely a great place to go though .. I use it for most things) Unless you are shooting 4K DCI and don't know that Neat4Video is better than Resolve Noise reduction, then you don't need to pay for Resolve.
At least on Pond5, if you want, since you are just starting with video, and you have no upload limitations, put up both. Name them accordingly. even reference to the same name ... a log video just looks awful and does not catch the eye, and a colorful video does. I've got some that I would now kick myself in the teeth and delete if not having had them sell multiple times being so over (everythinged). Some buyers want ready to go clips, others might want something they can manipulate. Put on your Artist page that you are happy to supply the original file if they wish... I do that, and have never received a single request for such, and sold many an over-saturated or simply botched clip for many hundreds of dollars. I do like to keep the original, or a flatter version of each file in case of such a request.
These days I modify these files to my eye, and with scopes, to the "balance" of looking good and being able to be manipulated further. Some people are happy and successful putting up camera files with nothing but a tidy trim ... this saves time, and they can put up more files (and therefor more chances of hitting sales target) but I prefer to offer "an image" ... I do not necessarily pretend to replicate reality. This has worked well for me, and it has also not worked well for me.
I'm facing a time of lower sales than normal lately ... if this is not due to a simple market fluctuation (nothing is simple in this market) then it must also be due to what I am offering, how I am pricing it, and most important, the actual subject. I used to shoot with more subject variance, now is more limited. Since you do not know who wants what, and when, or what depth of field or level of contrast or type of camera motion they need, it is best to vary it all as much as possible.
Don't worry overmuch about the log vs color corrected version .. if it were one or the other, I'd NOT put up flat LOG, but keep the original files, put up good looking clips, and experiment as you will. Put YOUR vibe out there, and don't worry about the rest. If a buyer wants more or different, they will ask.
