What are the dimensions for the cover picture?

Hi, it says at least 1500 pixels wide, here:

It doesn't seem to mention height though - not many! Experiment and see.

I've been in publishing for many years. Most magazines and newspapers require that photos be at 300 dots per inch (dpi) resolution. For a magazine cover, a typical magazine is 8.5 x 11 inches, so a photo that size at 300 dpi would be 2550 x 3300 pixels. That will fill a 8.5 x 11 page at 300 dpi. Since the publication would probably like to crop the photo to enhance the part of the image that it wants to focus on, it's probably best to have photos with a minimum dimension of 3000 pixels. A typical photo might be 3000 x 4000 pixels (or 12 megapixels). Most cameras today can easily do that, and that would be my target if I was uploading photos to a stock site.

I used to be the editor of two magazines, and I have had more than 1,500 photos published in various magazines (and a couple of newspapers).
