Photo sales revisted

Has anyone noticed any changes in their stock photo ("stills") sales on Pond5 since the SS takeover? I'm still batting zero for photo sales with virtually no views either -- i.e. no changes whatsoever.

Personally I don't have any images on Pond5 as most people say they rarely license any. I would love to put my collection on here though to be honest, as I am extremely disheartened at the agency I currently have them on. I'd love to see Pond5 make an effort to market image sales as well as other media types.

I've only put a couple of hundred images here to "test the water." Results so far suggest that it's a waste of time. I'm actually not a big fan of royalty free licensing, and I stay away from microstock agencies. However, I've been hoping that P5 might do more to promote their photo collection. My guess is that SS will just let things languish as they won't want to compete with themselves. Too bad really. P5 looked to have some real potential for photographers.

They simply don't sell often but do sell. Maybe 1 a month or so for me. Any revenue stream should be considered, and you never know, your performance may be different than mine.

I have 1000+ photos on this site but the sales have been few and in-between. However whatever I sold here the royalty I received is much better then the cents you get paid on other sites. So I won't be discouraged and keep uploading and you never know when you get a BIG sale.

I have hundreds of thousands of photos I could upload here (it's true) but I don't see the point of giving someone the chance of licensing one for $5, I mean why would I want to do that?

Sales have been slow and a recent trend seems to be a significant reduction the value/payout per sale.
Originally, sale vale seemed to average above most other stock agencies.

I have also tried increasing the sale price from 5.00 to 9.90. Has anyone altered their sale price? And if so have you noticed a drop in sales volume?

My folio on here is quite thin (almost 300 assets), but I've been uploading more and more. I've had sales with a smaller folio on all other agencies, but Pond5 remains the one agency I haven't made a single cent on. I'm in a similar boat with others that seem to have much larger folios in getting next to zero views, but I have noticed a bit of an up-tick in general visits lately. And if I'm lucky an actual view on an asset.

It does feel completely dead on here. Trying to figure out what the client base wants just encourages more creativity to try a bit of everything and see what ends up sticking. Naturally there's a silly amount of assets already on here and that requires actually building something from nothing. I do sometimes question whether I should not bother, so I can't imagine how defeated others feel when they have larger folios and aren't even getting views, let alone sales.

I think it'd help if Pond5 added the same thing SS recently did that actually showed us the number of assets in a tag and showed what's rising in demand from the client side. For the most part it does feel like we're just uploading for nothing.

My last photo sale was over six months ago. I had priced the image at $25, and it licensed for a whopping $0.78. What is the use of being able to set your own prices if this kind of thing happens? Unfortunately, I can't see much point in uploading more images here.
