The collections’role in increasing sales!!

Hello, I have been wondering about the collections’ role in bringing in more sales. Does anyone here have any idea about their role and if we should start creating different collections?

i create collections, I guess its important if you have a particular subject a buyer can go through a folder of that subject, if i was you i would be more concerned at giving your work away before thinking of collections, your pricing is way to low, and any thought of pricing low to get lots of sales is wrong, if someone wants an exclusive image they will pay a premium price, you could end up with someone purchasing one of your images for a book or dvd cover and you don't receive enough for a cup of coffee

yeah, I think that your point is right. But my pricing is 25-50 for the videos and I think up to 5 for the photos. If I check from Morocco, Then I see the price is 10-20. I used to let Pond5 pick the price and for me it seemed that they priced some of the clips too high and therefore I changed them. What do you think my pricing should be?

For pricing I am 99 dollars for hd video and 299 for 4k video, for images it varies I just did a journey through europe so my images depending on rarities are 75 -85 dollars, its best to price on rarity but you should at least double or treble your current prices on images

Hi - I find very few clips price at around $299 though I do try to keep mine around the $100 plus mark. I did manage sell a clip of a lynx making a kill for $499 - less commission so some are indeed willing to pay what it is worth. That one only tgook 50 hours of standing in the cold! Do you think we get repeat buyers or are they just looking at image and price?

My other account sold a clip of a guy's hand knocking on a door in slow motion. HD. $299. It was not an inspired work by any means, and anyone could do it, anywhere. Happens a lot, these good sales. Don't underprice your work. Low prices do not increase sales frequency.

There you go Miz - every now and then we get a surprise - like a sale I got 2 weeks ago of the jury box at the Tombstone court house. Talk about random - and P5 got me extra money!

It is the complete and utter surprise, time and time again, of having clips I deem ordinary, or not-very-unique, or worse, not very good selling, randomly, where others I consider better might never sell, that caused me to raise my prices the way I have. All-too-often I see clips that I nearly deleted sell. And others I spent lots of effort on do not. One such, somewhat related to yours, was a guy in a suit at a boring jury selection process I was at. He let me shoot him as if he were a lawyer researching. It was one of my good sellers and made me a lot of money, for very little effort.

These high selling moments that make no sense do somewhat subsidise the cost and effort of those clips we want to do, but think erroneously have value, and never prove such. (I could have worded that a lot better)

I'm glad to hear P5 got you extra money. It does happen! Sometimes for the most insane clips. I'm not sure if it completely makes up for the discounts, but I think it might ... I'm pretty sure it balances out, at least.
