Hey I just did some Luma mats, and I noticed there are not any check boxes for any thing like that, also none for lower thirds, wipes, or allot of other things that are motion graphic type stuff. If you would be interested I would like to help get that worked out in any way I could. I'm leaving today till after the Holiday but I did not want to forget about this.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't understand any of what you just said, so I guess I don't have a problem.
But have a good holiday.

True, I've missed wipes and lower thirds in the clickables section, too. Neven got to upload any so I completely forgot about them. But now that you mention it... Would be nice to have.
Jake: A "Lower third" is basically an animated background for a subtitle, typically displayed in the lower third of the frame. You can see those a lot in music and news TV. A "wipe" is basically a matte for transition from one clip to the next. Typically they are a lot more complicated than a simple blend. I havn't watched MTV for like a decade, but last century MTV had some really creative animators for their wipes andtransition...

I think if you see an attached file, you can assume it's an Luma matte, but you know what happens when people assume. I agree it would be beneficial to add a checkbox for alpha channel if the artist attaches a matte file, as well as wipes and lower thirds.

Yeah but a Luma mat is the only file for them some times. So you would not attach it because what would it attach to. I guess you could just list but I think it would be good to have every thing for it like any other type of thing, basically all I'm saying is the uploads area was put up more with footage in mind then any thing else. I think the Key to making P5 more and more successful would be to gear it over time to one stop shopping for an editor, offering music would not be a bad thing for any of us. Graphics becoming bigger and bigger, will need more catering in the uploads area towards graphics in my opinion. Curious if anyone else thinks that way also...

I agree it would be great to see Pond5 expand the product line. Music and Effects would be very nice.

Ohhh, are you just talking about creating those luma mattes as trasitions, so the editor's can use it with whatever video, got ya. I am a little confused onhow they handle transparency. I was reading in another post that the preferred format for animations with transparency is either the animation or PNG codec, with the alpha channel embedded. But the FAQs and say to ceate the matte file and attach it. So I am confused of if they which they would rather have, a matte file, or an embedded alpha channel.
Anyone, posted up Animation or PNG before?

The Luma matt thing is basically just black and white you start them out as 100% white and end 100% black and then within AE you say stencil luma and it will remove the footage with the transfer from black to white. So you can have the white shatter and the pieces of white fall, tiny shapes, what ever you can think of and that will remove it...
QT PNG with Alpha files in HD can be very large, that's the only difference really. That and an Alpha.
