You might have a bad camera Don. I'm getting some real nice footage with the one I have now.

Don, you have to think of this as when you had the hv30 and looked at that footage at 100%... it still had some noise and imperfections... that's just how it is going to be I think and need to live with it for now until the next level of cam comes out.

Mark are you shoot default settings or what settings are you trying? Scott might be right, the look of 5D MK II / III clips might have a different view. On normal view it looks fine, just when expanding it out. Not giving up yet, I've seen the Sony clips so it has a lot of capability. I'm currently blaming the shooter still on this one. The exact same clip processed in HD is 429 Mb whereas in 4K it is 1.3 Gb. The storage is huge as well as ftp time and computer processing time. I can't believe anyone is selling 4K for less than $100.

Mark, I exported from Sony Vegas in the same mxf wrapper and codec that the camera shoots. P5 accepts that format buy shutterstock does not. I don't like pjpeg, feel like it's a bad codec.... Old and bloated.
I really don't want to upgrade to CC but I think it is the way for me to stay consistent with all my editing.
The other test I want to do is rename files to mp4 and upload to Ss today

People can't expect to use new equipment on old software.
If Santa didn't bring you a CC subscription, time to bite the bullet.

So what is the best way and product in your opinions to save a frame grab to show quality of 4K video without affecting in by compression or changes?

Premiere has a save frame grab button https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/280996/4k-birds.tif. You may have to add it as I don't think it's visible by default.
I suggest a TIFF, TGA, or BMP over JPEG, since JPEG will compress even more.

Thanks, I'm trying trying the CC trial but the Sony plug in might work as well in CS6.
