I do not have SSDs but I see that you can turn it off, specify what drives will be optimized/defragmented with the choices of daily, weekly or monthly with no control of time of day.

Remember is on auto by default. I was going to defragment my disks when I noticed that they were already defragmented. I have no other big issues with W10.

Microsoft Security Essentials does not work on Windows 10. Defender does. Check if your anti-virus is working properly.

regular defraging is part of Windows 8 and I think even Vista did this. I haven't found any issues with this defraging but I am not into the image side of things like the above people do. I can download W10 now (i got in early) but I am waiting for as long as possible.

I use Cubase to record audio and Steinberg have recommended to wait due to known issues. Steinberg officially do not offer support for slightly older versions of Cubase, which isnt great. I mainly use Cubase Le5, if anyone trials this with W10 please let us know the result.

From what i've been reading online i will stick with win7 for as much as possible until they are totally obsolete, meaning new hardware wont work with them.

No need to upgrade whenever something new comes out especially when it's an operational system from a company that has pretty much monopolized everything regarding personal computers and has a hard time right now figuring how to make even more money.

Plus i dont see any benefits at all.

Kinda funny ... how many have to buy the next and greatest iPhone? They almost had a monopoly until Samsung kicked their butt with international sales. They are the same as Microsoft, market that everyone NEEDS the new one even though the old ones from several version back do everything that 99% of people use them for. Difference is free versus Apples extreme prices. I'm sure there are Artists that will argue it differently and a new Chinese made Apple is absolutely necessary. ;)

Up till now or very lately ALL Apple products were manufactured in China. Designed somewhat here in the USA ...
