I've used a Manfrotto 521 for years but unfortunately the style of the remote I have is no longer made. Here's from VariZoom which is close to what I've been using.

That what I just posted. So yes that will work.

How are you guys focusing? Manual or auto? Does the auto hunt? Is it fast? Can it track moving targets? Is the EVF adequate for focusing 4K? Thanks-

I haven't tried to auto focus while shooting. I don't trust it. Sometimes I hit the 'push auto' to focus before shooting. I also heavily rely on the magnifier to assist me in manual focusing.

I've always used a 7" external monitor attached to the center post of my tripod. Always used manual focus. Zoom in focus and everything in between is in focus.

Thanks Jason, it worked

So who else is shooting 4K? What other cameras other than fdr-ax1 are you using and how happy are you with it (not talking about timelapse from a dslr). Seems the biggest complain on many reviews is noise on AX-1 low light.

Low light is really the only real problem, but that's to be expected with a camera of this type at this price point. I bought it knowing it would be a fairly poor performer in certain lighting conditions. But that's why I have two cameras.

Other than that, I really enjoy it. I'm hoping it'll make me a bunch of these:
