GoPro Karma and GoPro 5

it seems that you need to focus the camera to infinity at first. It makes sense it's a 28mm lens and you will need to refocus to track a close subject since the huperfocal distance of such a lens going to infinity would mean that relatively close subjects will be out of focus.Plus another guy says that it handles wind better than the p4 which if true changes everything.
If the karma had a better battery and range it would still be better especially for those who would like a detachable camera and gimbal to further expand on their investment but i think that the mavic is now the better option.

Having seen footage from the DJI Mavric on the web and the soft focus "problems", I decided to cancel my order and see if DJI get the image quality better, right now it's too soft for stock.

The focus option is useless for me and can cause only problems...a tiny sensor like this doesn't give you shallow deep of field to justify the focus not being fixed to infinity..

It's not that tiny it's a bit bigger than 1/3'' which is standard eng production, and the lens isn't wide enough to retain a decent hyperfocal distance at infinity for close subjects, especially when/if wide open.
The question is why doesnt the camera turn on with infinity focus by default, and i guess that it only betrays the nature of the drone, which is for the selfie crowd first and foremost.

Wow !!! It seems half the world is going to buy the Mavic. Never have seen such a uproar for a quadcopter.

The only suspicious thing about some reviews is that even though there appears to be wind jitter (and not in very windy conditions) everyone says it's resistance to the wind is as good as the p4's or even better.
Hope they're right.

Would hate to buy it and 3 months later everyone, including me ,screaming at the forums that's it's not as stable as it were made out to be.
Other than that it looks like a great compact drone.
If it can do raw images and d-log it's a no brainer.

Based on what I saw in that video it seems pretty good ... there is wind ... I'll watch again later. Seems stable as one could ask for.

Mentioned "I don't think it is quite as tack sharp as the P4 footage" .... well ... here's a question ... from the few P4 footage shots I've seen first hand, I can say out of the box the thing is horribly oversharpened. Are we comparing that to "sharp"? It does seem to be a "new norm" along with vertical cell phone video, so what are we really talking about? People have been on DJI's case to chill out with the sharpening on the Phantoms and the Inspire 1 for ages ... I used USM on the footage I downloaded the other night and it was quite nice, actually ... but hey, still waiting on info.
