Hopefully this rocks! I'm excited about it for sure. E-mount lenses kinda suck, but I just got the metabones adapter for my fs700, hopefully it works for this.
Sony also released some powered emount zoom lenses, should be interesting to see how well that works.

That means Canon is under pressure. @Canon - now it's time to unlock the 50Mbit XF 422 codec in the 5D Mark III and remove that intentionally crippled downscale algorithm.

VG900 - $3,298.00 (body only) - I think I can buy two (2) GH3 ($1,299 body only) and two (2) $350 used lenses.
Sony Alpha a99 at $2,798.00 (body only) - Your better off buying a Canon 6D, Nikon D600 or the BMCC.
The Alpha a99 has HDMI clean signal output. The Nikon D600 also has HDMI clean signal out and sells for $700 less.
"In common with recent Sony models, the A99 can capture movies at frame rates of up to 1080p60 at a bitrate of 28Mbps or 1080i60 at up to 24Mbps. There's also the ability to output uncompressed data to an external monitor or recorder - putting the A99 into competition with Nikon's D800." These specs must be the same for the VG900.

Vader. what is your personal opinion about the VG900?

I really hate to give any opinion until i actually have worked with any tool so to speak. I think for what it offers or as we like to say "bang for the buck" it appears to be pretty good. However, I would (and will) spend a bit more on my next rig and tend to go more towards the FS700 due to the frame rate possibilities. My thing is I always wait for quite a while after release to see how the true feedback is. For example, the FS700 I know quite a bit about through our fellow shooter Alister Chapman. I trust his views and insights, not because he works for Sony on occasion, but because he really puts all these "tools" through the ringer and teaches high end classes about them.

That FS700 is in a superior league. Super-Slow-Mo for lightning and tornado chasing. Wow!
