I'm off the donuts during the summer, Gary. :) It's all about home made ice-cream and 2 to 3 gallons of unsweetened ice-tea a day during this heat wave.

Hey Dave, - why not give it a break? You have no idea how difficult it is to implement new features on such a large database, not to mention site. I can tell you no matter what, there is no such thing as easy or "add some simple code that defines two new sizes" - I was a programmer for many years, not to mention website back-end developer... and I can tell you, there is no "easy button" here! Of course, if you want quick, then expect things to get broken, which will only give you more things to complain about.

Actually, I DO KNOW how difficult it is. I was a database programmer for 25+ years. My last 18 months of employment was designing and implementing a multimedia web system WAY MORE COMPLEX than Pond5 for Farmer's Insurance.

I personally wrote around 60% of the code and managed two other programmers on the project. I spent a year writing image management software for NASA that automatically cataloged security images and flagged potential security alerts. I spent two years writing a system for UPS's massive distribution center in New Jersey that connected over 7,000 laser bar code scanners to a computer system for automatic routing of packages along 41 miles of conveyors where the project required 100% accuracy and the ability to deal with a half million packages an hour. And I spent 7-years on the W3C committee for WebDB as an invited expert.

So I know BS when people shovel it with regard to web and database programming. Either the programmer(s) at Pond5 are working on every feature at the exact same time so that they aren't getting any of them done, or something else is going on. Because many of the features Pond5 has promised can be done over a weekend by any competent programmer.

The issue here is that Pond5's priorities and mine don't match. And it's their company, not mine. So whatever it is they are working on is what's important to them. But having 25+ years experience as a programmer, I have questions... Especially when it seemingly takes them so long do anything. It could just be that the programmer(s) aren't full time (which begs the question, why). I don't know.

But I do know FROM EXPERIENCE that it's not that difficult to add 2K and 4K designators to footage which match the dimension criteria. I'm guessing it just hasn't been a priority and that's perfectly fine. My main issue is just the overuse (and misuse) of the term "soon".

I think we are 3 button clicks away from an INTERNET FIGHT!

If something is extremely difficulty I would hope that P5 was researching it and implementing it prior to their competitor. It would separate them from the competition, and we ALL love it here more than anywhere!

I love Pond5, I truly do. If I didn't care about them, I'd be much less vocal. But it HURTS ME when I see features that we discussed YEARS AGO being implemented on competitor sites first. Pond5 used to be an innovator. They led the industry in new features. That's no longer the case and it's difficult to see something you love falter and fall behind.
