Option for Potential Buyers to Make an Offer

I think this would really open things up in terms of providing additional opportunities to sell clips you may have otherwise missed out on.

That being said, I think if an offer is made and is accepted in a time period set by the buyer (dropdown box with: '10 minutes', '1 hour', '8 hours', and '24 hours' for example), they are obligated to pay for it if the seller accepts within the buyer set time frame. This avoids the buyer reneging and then coming back with an even lower offer if the seller agrees.

I think this would only encourage the race to the bottom to increase it's speed. Everyone would make an offer and nobody would sell at the price they set, and in the end it would become the norm and everyone would be forced to price lower.

Also if someone isn't prepared to pay the full price, they probably won't pay 20% or so less and would try to push you down far lower.

We already have to cope with the many contributors who price way too low, but a system as you suggest would make things far worse.

Another point is that it's unlikely any company purchasing our clips would have the time or inclination to barter with us. Maybe the odd individual would, but I prefer to try and attract those who are prepared to pay what our media is worth.
