Have to share this with you guys. Just found a cool plugin that automatically color corrects footage utilizing the Color Checker Passport. I can't tried it yet because Im on an iPad.

Compatible with Mac/Win After Effects, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder.

It is also possible to take "pictures" of a colorchecker and apply presets through Lightroom, Photoshop, CaptureOne, ... to this picture. Now in AfterEffects you can import this modified colorchecker picture and extract that look and apply it to your footage.

Thats really cool! I've told the plugin developer about that and he never used it this way before but its a great idea and it works!

From what I understand, one can also use just an image taken with the X-Rite MSCCPP ColorChecker Passport (the color tablet) and literally drop that into Adobe Speedgrade to get a perfect match for the "look" you want. Hence, if you take a picture with a DSLR of choice using the tablet, then process it using the software that comes with the X-Rite MSCCPP ColorChecker Passport, you simply take the final image, drop it into Speedgrade and it will make the footage convert to exactly that color palette as well as the white balance etc. Of course this works best if shooting as flat as possible and, if possible by your camera, in RAW. Very neat product all around. Of course Speedgrade is quite an animal itself to use. But now being able to do it in AE and Pr is very neat.

Thanks vadervideo,

didn't know that it was implemented. Speedgrade is really easy to use once you know the User Interface but I switched to DaVinci a long time ago because of the realtime performance.
