so with my workflow I keyword, title and discription my video clips directly to the videos via export using meta data. Ive been doing this workflow for almost 20 years now. since about 3 years ago ive been doing a lot 8K videos and for some reason most of the time the meta data on the clips won't load after uploaded. if i upload 10 videos maybe 2 or 3 will have meta data.. im wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they have figured out a solution. meta data is defiantly on the clips just like it is on my 4k clips. my guess is maybe something is freaking out whatever pond5 uses to sense the meta data for the bigger files like 6gb.. Anyways just seeing if anyone else is equally annoyed and if they have found a work around.. like maybe a different codec other then prores. Ideas?

you mention 6gb files : if you send them by ftp, pond5's ftp banner says all files must be under 5GB and larger files will not be processed. not sure it explains the metadata part but your 8K files are over that line, worth testing one that's under 5GB
if a clip does come through without its metadata, Apply CSV (their bulk metadata form for uploaded clips) can put it back after the upload. it matches on the original file name, and pond5 only keeps the first 80 characters of a name, so keep the whole name, extension included, within 80 or the csv finds nothing. and a csv keyword cell replaces the embedded list, it doesnt add to it, so put the full list in
fwiw pond5 does read embedded xmp (title, description and keywords, keywords in the order sent) but not the country, the shoot date or the audio flag, those only come from the csv
my son wrote up how pond5's ftp and csv work on his site if it helps: https://rushlot.com/blog/pond5-ftp-upload-80-character-filename-trap
