I think you may have misunderstood my joke, Andy... talking about a plugin to CREATE various rs artifacting...someday in the future when we don't have to deal with it.

That will only happen when companies can figure out how to implement "global shutters (sensors)" withing the physical constraints of the camera bodies themselves. For example, a GoPro may need to have a deeper body than it does now. It would also increase the actual pricing of the cameras as global shutters are more expensive than the conventional ones used today.

Rumors on next GoPro will be less than half the size of the 3+ so guess the depth won't help them.
