Canon firmware test

Ok, I guess if I want to use the full manual control the way it was designed I will have to rethink my using Nikon lenses.

Seems it works well with Canon AF lenses but when I put a manual lens on the light meter on the lcd shows 2 stops under exposed even when its properly exposed.

Damn Canon. This was their way to get back at everyone using Nikon lenses.

Other than that with a full auto EF lens attached, It's very easy and quick to adjust for correct exposure manually.

So, I'm putting up my Nikon bodies and some other stuff on Ebay to buy a couple lenses.

LOL, I knew you would come around eventually ;). Before you go with new Canon "L" lenses have a look at the Sigma EX DG series. I have a few "L" lenses but for the 24-70 micro zoom I found the Sigma was as good and half the price. I love it and also the Canon 70-200 L IS 2.8. A good quality 1.5 adapter can really come in handy sometimes. Now the real expense starts.

I was looking at the Sigma 24-70 dg, Do you have any vignetteing? (or however you spell it)
The L lens is out. I don't think I want to spend $1200 for one lens......

You guys have got me wanting one of these 5D Mk ll again, it sounds great with the "kit lens", EF24-105 IS, you only have to pay $850 for a $1500 lens at the time of buying the body (Canadian prices).

With the firmware upgrade it looks to be the real deal now.

I'm only selling the manual stuff since I'll have to get some Canon glass.

It does look like Sigma lenses on the 5D MKII will work with new update just like the actual Canon lenses.
