Template System Broken?

I can't get the templates to apply. It's not because I don't know how to apply them - I've done it countless times. Is it kaput? When I try to apply a template, I get the following error message: Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 4 by reference in my_uploads.php on line 1644

Sorry about that. I'm in the middle of some fixes and I forgot to fix a dependent file.
