What happened to the audio quality in previews?

So it seems that preview audio quality has dropped considerably, I'm talking like 64kbit mp3, really bad. This happened on my two recent uploads, all the tracks before that are of better quality in preview. Is this happening to anyone else? All the previews should be of same playback quality as like this it seems that some tracks are just produced poorly in comparison with others.

I've noticed exactly the same thing. The previews sound terrible. Not doing the tracks any favours whatsoever.

Yeah, I hope it's just some kind of a glitch, or a temporary situation. If this is something new, it really should be done to all the files on site because like this it just reflects badly on any new material as it sounds considerably worse in comparison with the older tracks. And we all know how hard it is for new tracks to get traction on the marketplace, this isn't doing us any favors.

It'd be great if someone from the audio team could chime in on the situation.

This is a temporary issue based on a glitch in the sample rate of the previews. We're in the process of revising our watermark to make it softer and less intrusive, and we'll be regenerating all of the audio previews at 128kbps at that time. We expect it completed before the end of the year.

Yeah, the watermark is a bit loud, that's a good update. Hopefully this gets resolved without any issues.

Yup, I noticed the same thing happening about a month ago, I thought I was the only one & maybe I was going a little crazy :/

The down sampling is chopping off at around 8 - 12 Khz

I noticed this as well--We're talking about a serious playback quality problem right? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out if its something on my end, but this sounds like the issue.
