Homemade "dead cat" for mics

Real easy here, no sewing required.

1) $8.00 1/2 yard of Faux Fur (the fuzzier the better) your color choice.
2) Scissors
3) Rubber Band

Lay mic down on matterial (face down) and measure enough to cover mic well (usually 1 inch below sound input area). Cut, matterial, cover (not too tight) and apply rubber band at base of fabric to hold.

Came up with this in a crunch one day. On the ZOOM H4, I call it the 1970's basketball star look (looks like a fro with a headband). Monitor and ajust as needed, becase if it is too tight, you will get some feedback.

Geat for outdoors and interviews in crowded areas.

Ooooh, I might need to make one of these fro's for my Olympus LS-10 recorder, the supplied "wind screens" can't hold up against any wind stronger than a cat's pur.
