I just hope they can get it to work at least @ 25p.

DNG 14-bit.

New firmware for the MKIII gives 4.2.2 uncompressed footage from the HDMI port

Quote: "the EOS 5D Mark III will now be able to record clean, uncompressed digital video with embedded time code over HDMI output while simultaneously displaying the video on the rear LCD display and recording to internal CF or SD cards."

I just upgraded now to see what it can do since I do not yet have an external recorder. Sounds like 4:2:2 will record to internal CF / SD?

Anyone using external recorders yet? If so give a review and suggestions.

My company recently got the ATOMOS Ninja 2 for our Nikon. Seems like a nifty little box. It's out on its first shoot right now.

I still can't find a menu list to select 4:2:2. It still shows the same video modes and compression settings as before.

I don't think it will record internally at 4.2.2
It's an external uncompressed signal at 4.2.2 so you'll have to get a recorder to do that.

I'm sure what they are saying is, it will record internally and externally at the same time. But thats not saying it will record at 4.2.2 internally.

Ya, internally still the old formats it looks like.

I'm wondering why people aren't buying the Black Magic recorder. It's only $345
