To color grade or not...?

Hi all,
well my question is what do you fellow peer do to your clips regarding cc and grading?
I believe that most of the buyers here are editors/directors who do their own cc/grading.
So if you do your own grading and the buyer want another look, do the clip still sell or not? Any opinion?

i always color correct my clips, sometimes more sometimes less, one of my best sellers have been colored very much:

Radek, why are you so sad? Do you need to talk about something?

I think you can answer that by looking at the top seller on any site.

Blown out highlights, over saturatated colors..... Seems to sell very well for him and others.
You have to also remember, that is a huge number of buyers that don't want or know how to do any color grading and just want something to dump in the time line.

As I have been told several times from buyers, and they are from all calibers of capabilities from novice to experts when it comes to editing, "If you can save me the work, then do it!" - Of course they are under the assumption that the artist understands color grading etc... to start with. I know very few that do really understand the process. It in itself is an art form. :) I learn new stuff about that process all the time - and am by no means an expert.

Thanks all for your thoughts! I´m quite new in this business, so it´s nice to get advice.
My current portfolio is quite small, only 141 clips, but I have had sale on a few of them already. I have a huge archive of wildlife clips, which I will upload in near future. Taking some time to enhance the clip, make them more colorful and crisp might do the trick to boost sales!

There are good arguments both ways - We would suggest, though, if you heavily color grade a piece of footage, always offer an uncorrected version, so buyers have the option of choosing either clip.

Thats good to know.
Thanks Kennon!

only pond5 would let you do that! I love it! Other sites would say 'too similar, we don't need this at this time' or something on the lines of insanity!

Kennon's advice is good. Apply it to time-lapse, blurred images of crowds. Often buyers are looking for the opposite of my assumption. Examples:

Thanks a lot Kennon for your advice :)
I think cc clips for bad white balance and adjusting (add) colors and contrast a bit will be my best bet.
@tbmpvideo: great advice for time lapse clips, thanks :)
