Your kidding right, Scotland is a country, they print their own money, have a different birth certificate. Presumably China doesn't count because Hong Kong is here first and don't bother with Taiwan.

Normstock - was teasing (hence the smiley). Although Scotland is not recognised by the United Nations as a country.

It is actually an interesting question to ask "how many countries are in the World".

Taiwan is not recognised by the USA (but is by other countries). Hong Kong is technically China but has a "special status". You also have places like Bermuda that are not classed as countries, it is a "British overseas territory".

You also get places like the US Virgin Islands which are an "Unincorporated territories of the United States" and not technically part of the USA but also not classed as a country.

Then of course you get places like Vatican City...............
