I use Classic Shell on my Win7 machine. That and Sharpkeys, which allows me to map my keyboard (I reverse Control and Alt on both sides and make my Caps Lock button into a Delete. Very cool.

Hey Gene, I can't comment on Windows 8.1, but I use Windows 7 and it works like a charm. The interface makes a lot of sense, and I never experience any trouble with stalling etc.
