DO NOT FLY DRONES HERE

Even non-flying machines cause damage and death. Daily. There are lots of laws about them, too, and the carnage continues unabated. A popular statistic often quoted states that flying is safer than driving. Statistically speaking. I have no data to back that up, just heard it a few different places....

If you've ever ridden in a remote controlled micro aircraft you would like to know that the operator had some level of experience. Of coarse the Wright bothers had no license to fly in the beginning they were the only ones in the sky.

If Amazon needs a special permit to deliver packages because they're a business then people selling photos and video fall into the same business category.

Being that modern aircraft are "fly by wire" they basically ARE remote control. I was alluding to the decades after the Wright Bros.

Amazon delivering packages to your doorstep is very different from me flying over open range, or past a mountainside. That kind of blanket statement is very silly, and it is exactly the kind of thing that needs to be worked out. ""For business purposes" can take myriad, if not limitless, form.

I guess eventually drones or ADV (Automatic Delivery Vehicles) or what ever you want to call them, will evolve to the point where it is economically feasible for them to drop off the latest copy of Harlequin Romance, but that time is not here yet. It just sounds cool for these companies to talk about such things.

The important thing about the government is if they can regulate your activity with taxes and regulations they will.

I wanted to make a metal detecting clip in Death Valley using a metal detector with no batteries installed. The rangers went cracker dog. Next time I go to Death Valley I will make a mock detector with no electronics just to make them come over and try to tell me I can't do that. Then if they want to confiscate it, it won't go home with them.

Back to the drones, I really like the videos they make. I see a lot of problems with their use and the law coming down the road.

Sad but true. Get'em while you can. They can't stop us from selling clips later that were taken before any real regulations are in place. Or can they?

The whole idea that we stifle technology due to what it could potentially do, or be done with it is so awful.

¿So we can only fly quadcopters for stock indoors execept if we go to Alaska?
