Dtiberio

Time and again you come on these forums and post rubbish that clearly shows you do not know what you are talking about.

Why not try and listen and learn instead of talking such nonsense?

In case people wonder what I am talking about dtiberio's post is quoted below as this seller has a habit of deleting posts when they are proved wrong:

"The only people making lots of $50 sales are people who have good placement in the search results, because they have a strong history of sales.

No new artist can count on good placement in search rankings because the biggest factor to influence search rankings is total sales. So new artists have to price their videos lower, to displace your over valued videos.

Older artists want new artists to overprice their videos in order to prevent new artists from displacing older artists who have stale portfolios which continue to make money."

To prove my point I just did a search (V1) for Fried Chicken using the default view.

First clip is for sale at $60 by a seller with a total of 14 clips online.

Yup, a person who did delete dozens of pages on the threads that were rants, raves and totally baseless, and attacking other artists and has made a grand total of less than $400 here at P5 seems to know everything about Pond5 sales. Newbies need to listen to artists that have made and continue to make good money not pennies. Very few of my footage is higher priced, all average. Very few if any ever show on the first many or dozen pages of searches. Strong history of $50 plus sales, heck my daughter with only a hundred clips on line sold one last week for $299. No sales history ... just good quality needed subject matter.

No one wants new artists to over price, nor would any recommend to under price. Every artist here (except one) wants every artists to make as much as possible and do as good as possible. There is no basis on his accusation that his competitors want to hurt his sales by suggesting higher prices. Please don't hurt your income by listening to dribble.

Quality and subject sell the best. Doesn't matter if it's $15 or $50 or even $299, price is a very small factor. Work on finding subject matter that is appealing, work on quality, work on quantity. Most of all work on keywording and descriptions that are accurate. Don't use snowboard, skier, skiing when describing a clip with nothing to do with these type of words. Even those who have been here since the beginning don't have access to the search criteria, how can a newbie with less than $400 income seem to know all the answers. Look at the big sellers in artist resource, don't follow the bottom feeders that feel picked on and unappreciated with lack of sales due to pricing, quality, subject ect.

Silence was golden, a breath of fresh air.

Oh and what a shocker - the post that I copied has now been deleted!

What a surprise. He rolls in with nonsense then complains to P5 that people are picking on him. Then he deletes all his posts to try to look like a team player. Looks like a pattern and expected. Last time he deleted dozens of full pages. Starts a fight when everyone here has been helpful then retreats. Well that's a good thing. Maybe he can come back under a new artist name and try to be helpful and friendly.
